|What are house prices doing in your area? Click on the links to the right to find out. Each link displays a graph showing the average selling price and the number of sales in that local authority since 2007.The data comes from the Registers of Scotland – which keeps the official record of every property transaction in Scotland. Unlike data from lenders and other sources, it includes all sales, even those that don’t involve a mortgage.
But it is compiled from completed sales where change of ownership has been formally recorded. GSPC reports (see here) are based on accepted offers and so give a better indicator of most recent trends.
If you want to know more, you can access the full data set from the Registers of Scotland here: https://www.ros.gov.uk/property-data/property-statistics/quarterly-house-price-statistics. Click on the link titled ‘quarterly statistics time series’.
The data is updated quarterly.
