When it comes to finding homes for sale in Scotland, there’s a new kid on the block. New property websites come along all the time, but this one already has over 11,000 homes for sale across the country – most of which are not on other portals – and there are several hundred new additions every week as new homes come on to the market. Moreover, there are handy new reports on the market in key areas.
The site – you can find it here – brings together properties for sale through the great majority of solicitors property centres (SPC) in Scotland; including GSPC. Since most solicitor estate agents rely on their local SPC to advertise the properties they are selling, a significant number of these homes for sale won’t be found on UK wide portals – although you will find them on the relevant SPC site.
Now, as we all know, most properties are bought by people living close to the home they purchase (you can find out more here) and these buyers are likely to use their local SPC to find homes for sale. But, for anyone planning to move further afield, the SPC Scotland site makes it easy to find homes that are not on other portals and helps buyers to identify the SPCs that are most relevant to them.
The site also has a handy new tool which allows users to track price changes since 2003 for every local authority area in Scotland. Here’s an example, or Take a look at this page and you’ll see what I mean.
This data sits side by side with the latest reports from the relevant SPC to give a unique insight in to the state of the market in that area.
And if you are selling, it’s good to know that the site also provides valuable additional advertising for your home – as long, of course, as you choose an SPC member to sell your home.
In fact, the SPC Scotland site has existed in one form or another for many years. But this is the first time it has brought together so many homes for sale from so many SPCs and so much information on market conditions. It could be the start of something big.
