A very quick update. The Scottish Government announced today the rates at which the new Land and Building Transactions Tax (the replacement for Stamp Duty) will be levied from next April.
There will be a 2% levy on the purchase price between £135,000 and £250,000 and a 10% levy on purchases above £250,00. This is what that means for purchases at a range of prices compared to the current Stamp Duty regime. Below that is a note on the current Stamp Duty rates.
